History of the True New Zealand Lymphacisers

XenPod re-manufacturing in New Zealand 2016

4o Years from 1985 to 2025

The epic New Zealand lymphaciser design was developed over 40 years ago, in the early 1980’s...

In 1984 three pioneers in lymphatic health care, John Godwin, Brian Jenner, and Gerard Alward developed the world renowned NZ lymphacisers, changing cellular health forever.

Brian Jenner was an experienced Touch for Health Kinesiologist from the USA, who like Ian Pettitt, had studied and worked with some of the foremost figures in the science of rebounding and lymphology including:

  • Albert Carter, Founder of the American Institute of Reboundology, Inc.

  • Dr. C. Samuel West D.N., N.D., Chemist, Lymphologist, Author, and Founder of the Worldwide Blood Protein Research Foundation and the International Academy of Lymphology.

  • Conrad Fuller, who introduced the Vitaliser to Australia.

In the early days Brian Jenner remained involved with the lymphaciser the longest and worked with another TFH Kinesiologist from NZ called Jenny Hammond, forming a partnership to improve the efficiency and design of the original lymphaciser.

In 1985, Ross Rieger of Pacific Health in Auckland purchased their business and began manufacturing. After Ross’s passing, his son Chris Rieger took over the business and continued to loyally manufacture all the lymphaciser designs at Pacific Health including the different XenPod for Ian, until late 2015.

There were several innovative souls over the years who picked up and ran with the lymphaciser design, some making improvements, others just rebranding for their own business, but few continued. Back in those days, there were no patents, or ‘rights’ to anything and so there were no real ‘rights’ to the original innovation to own, or pass on.

It all started with good souls, with good ideas, who prioritised helping others with their health, over business gains.

Xenpod innovator Ian Pettitt 1935-2021

In this spirit was Ian Pettitt, the innovator of the XenPod design who had his own health clinic in Auckland in 1985. At this time Ian started his journey looking for ways he could refine and evolve the original lymphacising concepts of John Godwin, Brian Jenner and Gerard Alward.

Ian Pettitt also studied with the original pioneers of lymphology and dedicated over 30 years of his life to research and making refinements to the lymphacising health-bounce and routine. His outstanding work has created the unique XenPod product that we still use today, which is the most refined version of the old lymphaciser design that outlives all other variations.

In 2015 Gigi Gilchrist met Ian Pettitt due to having lymphedema and Ian soon recognised that Gigi had everything he needed to take over the unique XenPod design manufacturing. Gigi quickly approached Chris Reiner who sold her all the Xenpod lymphaciser manufacturing stock. Chris was planning to permanently close down the entire lymphaciser workshop above pacific Health in Auckland and was looking for someone to continue the manufacture. Pacific Health had been producing four different models of the lymphaciser for many years: the 36 spring; the original 48 spring; the heavy gym spring and the refined XenPod spring design.

Rightly so, Chris Rieger directed Gigi to Ian Pettitt to acquire the IP rights and online assets of the XenPod design which he did not own, so she could begin manufacturing the XenPod. Gigi acquired the XenPod design IP from Ian Pettitt and in January 2016 started Healthier Life Ltd, which went on to literally save the unique XenPod design from extinction and began manufacturing, initially from her home in Northland NZ under contract with Ian Pettitt and his long time suppliers.

Later in 2016 Chris Rieger sold the remaining original lymphaciser manufacturing supply and stock to one of his customers, a Naturopath called Don Paterson, who became the one who saved the basic lymphaciser design of the 1980’s. Don re-branded the lymphaciser as his own and continues to make it available cheaply, out of the back room at his New Zealand based business.

No other known versions of the true lymphaciser have survived to this day, although originally there were many.

It is through the dedication of the few, that we still have this wonderful health machine available now and every contribution and action made towards achieving this can be highly commended.

Gigi has since gone on to further refine the XenPod design with the recent release of the incredibly high energy Ascension XenPod, which is still made at the original engineering premises in Auckland.

These priceless gems can never be patented, as the basic design has been in manufacture for decades and a patent can only be made on a brand new machine. However it's the supply contracts that will limit other copy cats entering the market and these are firmly protected and in place for the unique XenPod design.

Long may these superb and high quality machines be manufactured in New Zealand, where it all began!

Sure, you might get stuff made cheaper in Asia, as some other rebounding brands have done, but Asian materials and quality control will never meet the high standards of New Zealand materials, hand made manufacturing and superb craftsmanship.

This high quality design finesse is what people who value their health are more than happy to pay premium prices for: because good health is priceless 🌞
